Kaley Brogan is a senior on the Dowagiac tennis team.

 

What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?

KB: Receiving second place at Brandywine Invitational.

 

What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?

KB: Not going to state in previous years.

 

What has been a hardship in your life?

KB: When I lost my grandfather my sophomore year.

 

Who is a “hero” in your life and why?

KB: My parents are my heroes. My father works, but always tries to make it to my matches and my mother comes to all my games and is always there for me.

 

When are you the most nervous while you are competing?

KB: I am most nervous right before my match begins.

Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.

KB: When announcing names of my teammates I have forgotten some.

 

How do you tend to work out/train when by yourself?

KB: I usually go to the courts and hit off the ball machine or hit serves.

 

What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?

KB: Water polo.

 

Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?

KB: Sports help teach students responsibility to young kids.

 

How would you give away $50,000?

KB: I would give it to a food pantry to help feed the hungry.

 

If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?

KB: I would coach in Dowagiac to give back to my community.

KB: Read more.

 

What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?

KB: The weather creates a problem such as wind or rain.

 

If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?

KB: There would be no lets in tennis.

 

What is the best compliment you have ever received?

KB: That I have really good serves.

 

What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?

KB: The scariest thing I have done is playing No.1 singles, bit it has been the most rewarding position yet.

 

What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?

KB: The last thing that impressed me is how well my team has played this year and has fought through every tough match.

 

What is your favorite hobby? Why?

KB: Playing tennis, because it is exciting to watch and play.
