Edwardsburg girls sweep Dowagiac, Vicksburg

The Edwardsburg girls track team swept a pair of Wolverine Conference meets from visiting Dowagiac and Vicksburg Tuesday.
The Eddies defeated Vicksburg 91-45 and Dowagiac 119-14.
The Edwardsburg boys were defeated by the Bulldogs 85-52, but defeated the Chieftains 83-54.
Earning first place finishes for the girls team were the 3,200-meter relay squad of Natalie Longo, Chloe Bartz, Brynn Ritchey and Cameron Cleveland (12:01.62), Maddie White in the 100-meter hurdles (19.11), Jocelyn Hack in the 100-meters (13.58), the 800-meter relay team of Abbi Nugent, Hack, Longo and Alexa Markel (1:54.4), the 400-meter relay team of Nugent, Hack, Kaitlyn Zarycki and Markel (54.49), White in the 300-meter hurdles (55.27), Hack in the 200-meters (28.22) Zoe Pegura in the 3,200-meters (14:27.40) and the 1,600-meter relay team of Longo, Bartz, Sophia Mick and Cleveland (4:30.90).
Zarycki won the high jump (4-9), Lyndi Hurt won the pole vault (6-0) and Zarycki won the long jump (15-10).
For the boys, Jack Knoll won the 110- and 300-meter hurdles (13.58 and 43.81), Adam Treadway won the high jump (5-6), Bryce Williams won the pole vault (12-0), Noah Carrico won the discus (102-1) and Garett Orpurt won the shot put (39-3).
Dowagiac’s lone victories came in the boys 1,600- and 3,200-meters as Shawn Little posted times of 4:54.99 and 10:28.91 respectively.
