Born to Swedish immigrants John and Christine Lundberg, Dorothy “Dordy” Williams, 88, of Niles, passed gently to heaven Wednesday, April 26, 2017, surrounded by her three daughters.
On Feb. 28, 1948, she wed Leon L. Williams. He survives.

She was preceded in death by her son, Lynn D. Williams.
Dordy was the last surviving sibling of nine children. A 1946 graduate of Niles High School, she was a self-taught bookkeeper, using only paper ledgers for her husband’s construction business.
Dordy was famous for her fruit pies, chocolate peanut butter fudge, quilt making, loyalty to the Democratic Party and her unwavering faith.
A special thanks to Becca and Elten of Heartland Hospice, and the Brentwood staff for their kind and compassionate care.
A celebration of life honoring Dordy will be at noon Friday, May 12, 2017, at Wesley United Methodist Church. A luncheon will follow.
