SOUTH HAVEN — Visiting Dowagiac overcame a 2-1 halftime deficit to win its first Wolverine Conference match of the season Wednesday.
The Chieftains got a pair of goals from Kellyn Daly, including the game-winner, while the third goal came off the food of Alejandra Reynaga.
“Despite being down 2-1 at halftime, I spoke with the girls and told them to play hard and stay together,” said first-year Dowagiac coach Chad Davis. “I told them we need to learn how to be a second-half team and I thought they did a great job of responding and giving a whole team effort and holding onto the victory. I am very proud of the work they put in tonight.”
