Dowagiac’s Little wins 3,200 at Lions Club Invitational

PAW PAW — The Dowagiac boys track team finished fourth and the girls team fifth at the annual Lions Club Invitational Saturday.
Battle Creek Harper Creek won both team championships. The boys team scored 187 points and the girls team 161 points.
Dowagiac’s boys had 61 points and the girls 42.
Freshman Shawn Little won the 3,200-meter with a time of 10:37.54 and was second in the 1,600-meters with a time of 4:45.21.
Deondray Henry won the 300-meter intermediate hurdles with a time of 43.37, while he was fourth in the 200-meter with a time of 24.23.
Caleb Murphy finished third in the long jump with a leap of 19-5. He was fourth in the discus with a toss of 107-4.
Dowagiac’s 800-meter girls relay team finished second with a time of 1:56.33.
The team consisted of Tamia and Tania Wilson, Al’dreonna Henderson and Hayden First.
First also finished third in the 100-meter with a time of 13.59 and third in the 200-meter with a time of 28.69.
Henderson also finished third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 53.09.
