Dollar General will host a grand opening at its relocated store in Edwardsburg Saturday.
Beginning at 8 a.m., customers will be able to shop at the new location on Michigan 62.
The grand opening will feature special deals and free prizes for customers throughout the day, including $10 Dollar General gift cards to the first 50 adult shoppers and a Dollar General tote back with complimentary product samples to the first 200 shoppers.
Melissa Leahy, assistant manager, said that the store is much larger.
“We have more groceries and an entire wall of freezers and coolers,” she said. “Technically it is called a Dollar General Plus. This is Dollar General’s answer to Edwardsburg not having a grocery store.”
Leahy said that patrons will enjoy the larger size as well as the cleanliness of the facility and the helpful staff, which is the same as at the previous store.
“Dollar General is committed to delivering a pleasant shopping experience that includes a convenient location, a wide assortment of merchandise and great prices on quality products,” said Dan Nieser, Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development. “We hope our Edwardsburg customers will continue to enjoy shopping at Dollar General’s new location.”
The original Dollar General was located up the street on Michigan 62 next to the former Harding’s Friendly Market store.
The new store has been designed to make shopping more customer friendly.
It will feature season products in the center of the store, easily recognizable departments with visible signage and coolers that are conveniently located at the front of the store.
