Dowagiac man charged with possession of crack cocaine

A Dowagiac man is in custody on suspicions of possessing crack cocaine, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Theron Black, 55, was charged with possession of cocaine and maintaining a drug house during his arraignment Thursday afternoon. His bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety.
According to police, Black was arrested Wednesday following a parole check of his residence in the 400 block of Chestnut Street by detectives with the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team and agents with the Michigan Department of Corrections. During the search, officers found paraphernalia for the use of crack cocaine.
The investigation of the incident is still on going at this time, police said.
