Athlete Showcase: Dowagiac’s Taylore Froehlich

Taylore Froehlich is a junior on the Dowagiac softball team.
What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?
TF: Getting moved up to varsity at the end of my sophomore year.
What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?
TF: Getting down on myself and letting it affect how I play.
What has been a hardship in your life?
TF: Nothing.
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
TF: My parents. They are always there for me and keep pushing me to do my best.
When are you the most nervous while you are competing?
TF: Right before I go up to bat.
Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.
TF: Tripping going into home plate.
How do you tend to work out/train when by yourself?
TF: Go to the weight room.
What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?
TF: Track.
Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?
TF: You make new friends and unforgettable memories.
How would you give away $50,000?
TF: Donate it to a cancer awareness center.
If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?
TF: Notre Dame softball.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
TF: Get a job.
What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?
TF: To not get upset about my mistakes.
If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?
TF: Not being able to lead off a base early.
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
TF: That I am really fast and determined.
What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?
TF: Playing on a travel volleyball team with high schoolers my eighth-grade year. Yes.
What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?
TF: Megan Soderbloom breaking the school’s home run record.
What is your favorite hobby? Why?
TF: Playing sports because it keeps me busy and active.
