Marie Himes, of Cassopolis

Marie Himes, 64, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Friday, March 24, 2017, at her residence.

She was born July 28, 1952, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Rossie and Betty (Parvin) Lowrance.

She married Richard Lee Himes on April 21, 1973, in Buchanan. He preceded her in death in 2004.

She was also preceded by her parents and one brother, Buddy Lowrance.

Marie was a great mom and grandma who was very involved with her granddaughters. Her granddaughters say that they will miss her tremendously. Her sisters also say that they will miss her, although they are happy that she is now with the Lord.

Marie is survived by her son, Brandon Lowrance of Cassopolis; her stepson, Steven (Rose) Lanko of Elkhart, Indiana; three granddaughters, Montana Marie Lowrance, McKenzie Lee Lowrance and Samantha Ann Lanko; one great-grandchild on the way; two sisters, Carol Ruth of Dowagiac and Linda (Brian) Tonkin of Niles; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2017, for a graveside service in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan, where she will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Richard Himes.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals in Cassopolis.
