Lamberto Paredes is a freshman on the Dowagiac wrestling team.
What has been one of your greatest
accomplishments as an athlete?
LP: Beating someone that you have not
before.
What has been one of your biggest
disappointments as an athlete?
LP: Doing something wrong on the field.
What has been a hardship in your life?
LP: Trying to get a ride to go home when I am in sports.
When are you the most nervous while you are competing?
LP: When I first get to the place.
Describe an embarrassing athletic
moment.
LP: When I started pushing people when the play was over.
How do you tend to work out/train when by yourself?
LP: I think about my
mistakes and inspire
myself to do better.
What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?
LP: Soccer.
Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?
LP: You make new friends. It can help you go to college and you stay in shape.
How would you give away $50,000?
LP: I would give it to the poor.
If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?
LP: The Carolina Panthers for football, Oklahoma State for wrestling.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
LP: Do art or just work out.
What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?
LP: Trying not to get mad when I am losing.
If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?
LP: Nothing. I like my sport the way it is.
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
LP: You can accomplish anything.
What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?
LP: Ride a horse, and yes, because know I love to ride them.
What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?
LP: When Zydrunas Savickas broke the world record for deadlifting.
What is your favorite hobby? Why?
LP: Working out, because it helps me stay calm.
