The Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce will be hosting several events in the coming weeks in celebration of some local milestones and achievements.
First, the chamber will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Dowagiac Municipal Airport terminal at noon on Wednesday. Mayor Don Lyons and members of the Dowagiac City Council are expected to be in attendance, joined by several chamber leaders and members.
Refreshments will be served during the gathering.
Construction on the new terminal building was completed late last year, replacing the previous structure, which was suffering from various issues. The terminal serves as a space for pilots to use for planning flights or to stay during inclement weather.
The Dowagiac Municipal Airport is located at 710 W. Prairie Ronde St.
People planning on attending the ribbon cutting are asked to RVSP by Tuesday, by calling (269) 782-8212 or by emailing vphillipson@dowagiac.org.
The following week, the chamber will host a business after hours event at Wolverine Mutual Insurance, to celebrate the Dowagiac company’s 100th anniversary in commemoration of the actual date it was founded. The event will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 20, at the company’s office, at 1 Wolverine Way (off M-62, around 1 mile outside of town).
Appetizers and beverages will be served during the event. A drawing will take place during the event as well, so attendees are encouraged to bring their business cards.
People are asked to RVSP by Thursday, using the same details above.
