The Michiana Youth Robotics VEX team 4911A, High Voltage received two awards at the Western Michigan Regional Competition Saturday.
The teammates include Daniel Brennan, left; Sam Jager, center; Tristan Millar, right and coaches Meg, right and Dave Edwards, second from the left.
Judges praised the team for creating a speedy machine that also utilized sensors and encoders on the robot. These characteristics helped the team to achieve a 2cd, allowing them to win a spot in the state tournament and a finalist trophy.
The team also won the Amaze Award trophy, which is given to a team that amazed the judges.
