Wanda Jo Arend, 78, of Niles, passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at home.
Wanda was born June 17, 1938, in South Bend, Indiana, to Lloyd and Rose Hayes. She graduated from John Adams High School in the class of 1956 and from Ball State University in 1960.
Wanda was employed as a librarian for many years at Brandywine High School in Niles years.
On Dec. 28, 1963, she married Don Arend in Niles. They were married for 53 years.
Wanda was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s witnesses in Niles. She enjoyed an active, spiritual life in service of her God, Jehovah, for 42 years, and was zealous in the congregation.
Wanda is survived by her husband, Don; and two children, Stephen of Chandler, Arizona, and Susan of Osceola, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Rose Hayes, and a brother, Ray Hayes of Camarillo, California.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan.
