Dorothy Mottl and Ale Forburger, with D. Mottl Reality Group, welcomed the community to their new office downtown Thursday with an open house and ribbon cutting. Originally headquartered in Buchanan, the downtown Dowagiac office is the firm’s second location. Under interior and exterior renovation for the past several months, the building has been restored, featuring a tin ceiling and hardwood floors. Kim MacGregor, president of the Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce, and Leon Laylin, mayor pro tem, welcomed the new business to the downtown. Mottl, who is an avid community supporter, said she is pleased to be in Dowagiac and believes in doing business locally with much of her construction materials purchased right here in Dowagiac. In coming months, she plans to continue renovating the building, as an upper-level apartment suite is created.
