More than a dozen children took to the hardwood at Dowagiac Middle CSchool Saturday morning, as part of the Elks’ Hoop Shoot free throw contest. The children, ages 8 through 13, were challenged to shoot 25 free throws inside the middle school basketball court. The top three boy and girl winners in each age group received medals, with the top scorer receiving a free basketball as well as a shot to compete in the Elks’ district competition in St. Joseph.
