Contestants with the 2017 Miss Dowagiac Scholarship Pageant made their first public appearance at Dowagiac’s Christmas Celebration on Saturday, joining the festival’s European-styled Mrs. Claus for activities in and around Beckwith Park that morning. The young ladies raised approximately $200 for the pageant, which will take place Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Dowagiac Middle School Performing Arts Center.
