The Dowagiac Chieftains came up just short in its bid to win the Division 5 district title Friday night in Berrien Springs.

The Shamrocks (8-2) edged the Chieftains 14-7 to advance to the regional championship game against Grand Rapids West Catholic (9-2).

Berrien Springs will host the title game.
