Athlete Showcase: Cassopolis’ Lynnzee Armstrong

Lynnzee Armstrong is a sophomore on the Cassopolis volleyball team.

What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?

LA: Starting on varsity as a freshman.

What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?

LA: Losing in the district finals last year.

What has been a hardship in your life?

LA: Being so short.

Who is a “hero” in your life and why?

LA: My parents because they have always been their for me no matter what.

When are you the most nervous while you are competing?

LA: When were down points and we are in serve receive because I never know what the pass is going to look like.

Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.

LA: In seventh-grade when I was running a suicide and I forgot to duck and clothes lined myself with the net.

How do you tend to work out/train when by yourself?

LA: I eat lots of food building up protein.

What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?

LA: Football because I want to score lots of touchdowns.

Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?

LA: Because you can meet new people and stay active.

How would you give away $50,000?

LA: I would give it to my school so we can get another gym just for volleyball.

If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?

LA: Kentucky volleyball team.

If I did not play sports, I would…?

LA: I would involve myself in more clubs.

What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?

LA: Block because I’m short.

If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?

LA: You could play with earrings because taking them out is so much work and you always lose them.

What is the best compliment you have ever received?

LA: You can jump really high.

What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?

LA: Walked across a bridge. I was forced to and I didn’t want to do it.

What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?

LA: My best friend Maile (Barber) play through her knee problems and still execute.

What is your favorite hobby? Why?

LA: Sleeping because it’s a necessity.
