BERRIEN SPRINGS — Powered By Honor, Honor Credit Union’s community fund, has sponsored a group local graduating seniors through its 2016 Community Commitment Scholarship.

Thirteen students each received $1,000 to be used towards furthering their education.

Reinforcing Honor Credit Union’s dedication to supporting the local community, an emphasis on community involvement and extracurricular activities was part of the Community Commitment Scholarship application.

Among these students is recent Dowagiac Union High School graduate Anne Zebell, who exemplified community commitment and is positive role models for her community service and academic success.

Powered By Honor exists to partner with communities. In addition to corporate donations and sponsorships for many local organizations, Honor Credit Union team members contribute service to organizations within local communities every year.  Powered By Honor is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that is primarily funded by Honor Credit Union employees, in addition to a portion of Honor debit card interchange income.
