Niles Library to offer inflatable educational theater this week

From the outside, the dome theater resembles an inflatable black igloo. The inside, however, provides a fun new way for children to learn.

For the first time, the Niles District Library is offering youth a chance to experience educational movies inside the dome theater.

It is part of the library’s summer reading program, which encourages children to continue learning while on break from school.

“It promotes learning in a fun way,” said Heather Williamson, of the Niles District Library. “All of the movies will be fun and highly visual, with things that will capture kids’ attention and keep them engaged.”

The library is offering free admission to the dome theater, which will be in the rotunda of the library from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, July 15. Tickets must be reserved because seating is limited.

All movies are educational and approximately 30 minutes in length. While some movies are already full, many seats remain open for other showings.

Stop by the youth services desk at the library or call the library at 683-8545 to reserve a free ticket. The dome theater is for youth 18 years of age or younger.
