People are encouraged to try their luck as the Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce is raffling off a two-year lease on a 2016 Chevy Equinox LT, with ticket sales beginning this month.

Dr. Timothy Dowsett, Chamber of Commerce past president, is heading up the auto raffle, as he partners with C. Wimberley Automotive Group to bring this opportunity to Dowagiac.

The two-year auto lease includes $1,000 cash, which the winner can earmark for tax and title.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for someone to get a great two-year lease for only $20 per ticket,” Dowsett said.

Tickets will be on sale at the Chamber office, as well as select member businesses of the Chamber of Commerce, such as Dowsett Chiropractic Health Center, Vincent J. Jewelers and Who Knew? Consignment.

Festival goers will also be able to purchase raffle tickets at Summer in the City Festival, July 21-24; the Rod & Roll Classic Auto Show, Aug. 20; and Under the Harvest Moon, Oct. 8; with remaining tickets sold the night of the Candle-light Christmas Parade, Dec. 2.

Monies raised from the fundraiser will be used by the Chamber to provide local programming services.

Dowsett said the winning ticket would be drawn and announced the night of the Christmas parade, just prior to the holiday procession stepping off.

If 1,000 tickets are not sold, the drawing reverts into a 50/50 drawing with a minimum prize of $3,000.
