Nearly 30 businesses will offer a special deal or promotion today during the latest edition of Third Thursdays in downtown Niles.

It will be the second time downtown merchants have hosted the Third Thursday event. The inaugural event occurred in May and was considered a success by participating businesses.

The event will continue on the third Thursday of each month. Participating businesses choose what they want to offer and how late they will stay open during the event.

Third Thursdays begins at approximately 5 p.m. for most businesses.

Below is a list of participating businesses and what they are offering:

• Brass Eye — Goose Island tap takeover, pickle ball exhibition, live music by Dave Dale

• Pizza Transit — Exposing greatness pizza, made with hummus from Olfactory, roasted zucchini, tomatoes, mozzarella, feta, Italian seasoning

• Olfactory Hue Bistro — Street food theme specials, grilling on the street

• Bella’s — Wine Bag or Bitchin’ Beer Bag

• Forever Clean Soap Works — kids’ night out with face painting and monkey fart soap

• Veni’s — Free chocolate covered Oreo or chocolate covered pretzel rod with a purchase of $10 or more

• Jim’s Smoking Café — Grilling on Second Street

• Luminous —$10 Silken Up dry conditioner (normally $24)

• Flo N Gro — 25 percent off light bulbs, 20 percent off all other inventory

• Edward Jones — Open house with refreshments

• Massimos — $5 off a 16-inch pizza or larger and live band Chippewa Project

• Lori Diane Photography — Purchase $150 gift certificate for $100

• Inertia Cycling — Spring tune-up with evening TT hours, 10 percent off select accessories

• Rumor Records — In-store event, spin-art, kids/families, $3 per album, records and paint provided

• Jazzercise — Hip-hop themed classes, $5 adult, $1 students under 18
