Steven William Rough, 26, of Niles, Michigan died on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
He was born on Oct. 31, 1989 in Saint Joseph, Michigan to William Charles and Cindy Kay (Webber) Rough. He was graduated from Buchanan High School, where he had earned varsity letters in soccer and track. He has been previously employed at the Judith Racht Gallery in Harbert, Michigan and was currently employed at the Home Acres Building Supply Company in South Bend, Indiana.
Steven continued his athletic activities in area softball leagues, but found his greatest pleasure in practicing his fine art skills, especially drawing. He always had a smile, which naturally drew new friends to him. His greatest joy was his son, Logan.
Surviving family includes his son, Logan Steven Rough and Logan’s mother, Ariel Berry; Steven’s parents, Cindy Bill Rough of Niles; grandparents Charles Esther Rough of Berrien Springs, Michigan; brother Marcus Rough of Buchanan and sister Alyssa Rough of Niles; aunts and uncles including Debi (J.D.) White, Sheri (Michael) Colburn, and Pam (Donald) Priest, and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Harley “Bunk” and Martha Ann (Shelton) Webber; and great-grandparents including Ethan and Rose Shelton.
The funeral for Steven Rough will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 at the Berrien Center Bible Church with Pastor Bill Zebell of the church officiating.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles from 5 until 8 p.m. Contributions in memory of Steven may be made to the Logan Rough Trust Fund.
