Phillip Donald Myers, 78, of Dowagiac, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at The Timbers of Cass County in Dowagiac, Michigan.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac with Pastor Stacey Wilder from Calvary Bible Church officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, Michigan. Phillip was born on July 24, 1937, in Cassopolis, to Donald and Vera (Brizendine) Myers. He married the former Shirley Keene in Dowagiac, on July 27, 1957, in Dowagiac. Phillip worked in his early years for The Heddon Company in Dowagiac and then at National Standard in Niles. He served eight years with the Dowagiac National Guard. Phillip was a true sportsman who loved to hunt, fish and trap turtles. He was a gifted gardener and grew such a large garden that much of his produce was given to family and friends.
Phillip is survived by his wife Shirley; two daughters, Dawn (Bruce) Adam of Cassopolis and Teresa Myers of Dowagiac; five grandchildren, Desiree’ (Rob) Litty, Jessica Adam, Morgan Adam, Phillip Matthew Parsons and Bo Stephen Parsons; a sister, Jane (Fred) Foster of Berrien Springs; a brother James (Mariann) Myers of Indianapolis, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents.
