Man arrested for Niles home invasion

A man was taken into custody by police after confessing to stealing a TV from a Niles home Wednesday afternoon, according to a release from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
According to police, deputies were sent to a residence on M-60 in Howard Township after Cass County Central Dispatch received a call at 1:48 p.m. from a resident who reported that a man had just kicked in his neighbor’s door and had walked out with a flat screen TV.
Eyewitnesses gave police a description of the vehicle the suspect drove. While responding to the scene, the officers located and arrested the suspect following a traffic stop.
Police say the suspect confessed to taking the TV during an interview by detectives. The stolen property was recovered and returned to the victim.
Authorities are withholding the name of the accused pending his arraignment in Cass County District Court.
This incident is still under investigation.
