Dowagiac rallies to beat Brandywine in five sets

The Dowagiac volleyball team rallied from a 0-2 deficit to defeat visiting Brandywine 3-2 in its Dig Pink match Tuesday night.
The Chieftains wore pink jerseys, decorated the gym in pink and sold pink t-shirts to help raise money for breast cancer research.
The Bobcats won the first two sets 25-21 and 25-19 before the Chieftains responded to take the next two sets 25-23 and 25-16 to set up a fifth and deciding set.
Brandywine was no match for Dowagiac in the fifth set as the Chieftains raced out to a 9-4 lead behind three kills by Annie Ennesser and never looked back.
Ennesser finished with 17 kills, 22 digs and seven aces, while Taylor Hulett added nine kills.
Kassidy Binns finished with 15 digs and 35 assists. Natalie Davis led Dowagiac in digs with 29.
Oliva DePriest had 12 kills and three blocks for the Bobcats, while Sydney Carlson added eight kills and 21 digs.
Emily Erwin finished with 30 assists and six aces.
