Noah Van Kirk, Sr., 78, formerly of Buchanan, passed away at his residence surrounded by family and friends in Nolanville, Texas.
“Popeye” was a former mayor, council member and city judge. He was also a business owner for many years.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years; two brothers, Walter and Gene Van Kirk of Niles; two sisters, Mary of Niles, Michigan and Bessie of California.
He is survived by a brother, Jerry Van Kirk of Coldwater, Michigan; and a sister-in-law Sylvia Van Kirk of Niles, Michigan; four sons, Walter Van Kirk, of Belton, Texas, Terry Van Kirk, of Niles, Michigan, Noah Van Kirk, Jr., of Nolanville, Texas; Steven Van Kirk of Buchanan, Michigan. He has 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
He enjoyed gardening and watching birds with his best buddy Paul Neely Noah and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be loved and missed by many.
