Six injured in crash

Six people were transported to local hospitals following a three-car injury accident in Niles Township Tuesday.
At approximately 5:34 p.m., rescue workers responded to the accident on Old US-31 at the intersection of Walton Road, according to a release from the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred when a vehicle driven by Lindsey Johnson, 28, of Berrien Springs, crashed into a vehicle driven by Patricia Starr, 57, of Buchanan, who was stopped on old US-31 waiting to turn on Walton Road. Because of the collision, Starr’s vehicle was pushed forward into the path of a third vehicle, which was traveling in the opposite direction. crashing into the side of Starr’s vehicle.
The third vehicle was driven by Sheila True, 64, of Niles.
There were two adults and three children in Johnson’s vehicle, and one passenger in True’s.
The roadway was closed until rescue workers completed the investigation. Traffic was detoured.
