The Paris Soda Shop will always be known for its ice cream and 1940s atmosphere.
But manager Rhonda James hopes it can be known for its breakfast too.
“I feel like it is going to be a good thing — it’s all about getting the word out there,” said James, who began offering breakfast earlier this month.
The menu is expansive.
“It’s a full-on breakfast menu, but it’s not a traditional menu,” James said. “I feel like we are different and unique because of what we have to offer.”
When asked to highlight some of the breakfast offerings, James said her paninis are a delicious twist on the traditional breakfast sandwiche.
“They all have a different flavor to them and I use the homemade sauces on some of them,” she said.
James also recommended trying the biscuits and gravy.
“My family loves it so I put it on the menu,” she said, adding that people should try the sausage casserole and her many varieties of breakfast quiche. “I think we make the best quiche around.”
Doors open at 8 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday and at noon on Sunday. James said breakfast could be ordered anytime and while it is not “fast food,” breakfast items can be made quickly for those that need to eat and run.
James said they decided to add breakfast as a way to attract more customers in the slow months, which typically begin once children go back to school.
“When I mention it to people they all say it is a great idea, so I hope to get their support,” she said.
The Paris Soda Shop is located at 220 E. Main St. in downtown Niles. It can be reached by phone at (269) 687-5975.
James said customers should look for a new delivery menu coming as early as next month.
