ZEELAND — Dowagiac senior Tristan Howard wrapped up his career with an eighth place finish at the Division 2 State Track Finals Saturday.

Howard finished with a throw of 49-8.25.

Logan Taggart of Coldwater won the shot put with a toss of 57-3.75.

Howard earned the lone point for Dowagiac in the meet won by Orchard Lake St. Marys Prep.

 

Division 4

HUDSONVILLE — Cassopolis finished with three points in the boys Division 4 meet, while the girls finished with nine points.

The Rangers 800-meter relay team of Deion Gatson, Bryce Saxton, John Hampton and Brandon Anderson finished eighth.

Hampton was fifth in the high jump with a height of 5-11.

For the girls, Cassopolis’ 800-meter relay team of Kortenei Suggs, Nakiela Sinclair, Kaylyn Forrest and KayAnna Williams was sixth, and the 400-meter relay team of Suggs, Forrest, Janye Butts and Williams was sixth, while the 400-meter relay team made up of the same four runners was seventh.
