Dolores Marie Fouts, 85, of Niles, passed away at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center on Sunday, May 3, 2015.
Dolores was born on Aug. 18, 1929, to the late Leon and Frances Long in Chicago, Illinois. On March 14, 1947, Dolores wed Richard Fouts at a ceremony in South Bend, Indiana. Together they raised six children. Dolores was the Chicago Cubs No. 1 fan; she enjoyed watching them on TV, going to the games and listening to them on the radio. She also loved camping when she was younger but her main priority in life, even in her last days, were her children.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 47 years, Richard; and brothers, Jack, Leon, David, Harry Long and James McEwan.
She is survived by her children, Gloria (Jeff) Lichtenfels of South Bend, Indiana, Charmaine (Jack) Pinkerton of Niles, Michigan, Phillip Fouts of White Pigeon, Michigan, Larry (Carol) Fouts of South Bend, Indiana, Leon Fouts of Niles and Laura Richhart of South Bend; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and one sister, Lois (John) Burkhart of Phoenix, Arizona.
A memorial service to honor Dolores’ life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Brown Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior.
