Inconsistent hitting continued to plague the host Brandywine softball team against Cassopolis Thursday.
The Bobcats had just four hits in the opening game, but then exploded for 15 hits in beating the Rangers 4-2 and 12-0. The second game lasted just five innings.
Two of the four Brandywine hits in the first game went for extra bases, including a three-run home run by Morgan Crocker that broke open the close game in the fourth inning.
Alexis Kwieren doubled for the Bobcats.
Cassopolis had eight hits in the game, including doubles by Rachelle Williams, Jayna Locke and Katie Purles, but could only muster two runs in the sixth.
Hannah Hadden picked up the win for Brandywine, while Williams suffered the loss.
In the nightcap, Kelly Harper went 4-for-4 and Michaela Hartline went 3-for-4 as the Bobcats hit the ball up and down the lineup.
A nine-run third inning turned a 1-0 Brandywine lead into a blowout.
Crocker tossed a four-hitter to earn the victory for the Bobcats. Williams took the los for the Rangers.
