A search of a home on North Ninth Street for the suspect in the March 22 shooting on Fifth Street was unfounded.

According to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department,the SWAT team was following up on a tip they received a tip detailing the location of Michael Jerome Exom, III, who was accused of shooting his girlfriend at Aaron’s Mini Storage in Niles.

Exom was reported to be at 310 N. Ninth St. in Niles, but was not found when the SWAT team searched the home.
