Jerry and Charles Kuhl, of Niles

Former Niles residents, brothers Jerry P. Kuhl, 74, and Charles R. Kuhl, 79, died three days apart from each other last month. Jerry died on March 22, 2015 in Arlington, Texas and Charles died on March 25, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Charles was born on Sept. 16, 1935, in Niles and Jerry was born on Jan. 12, 1941, in Buchanan, Michigan, both sons of Lester and Hazel (Williams) Kuhl. “Chuck” attended a one-room schoolhouse and then left Niles as a young man and traveled throughout the country before settling in El Reno, Oklahoma. Jerry graduated from Niles High School, and was employed most of his life as an over-the-road truck driver eventually settling in Arlington, Texas.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, V. Nadine (Brant) Kuhl and their daughter, Tammy Kay Hernandez. He is survived by their sons, Craig (Melissa) Kuhl and Brad (Cheryle) Kuhl; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and Nadine’s sister, Kay Stephens of Niles.
Charles is survived by his wife, Karen and their children, Brian Kuhl, Robin Bruce, Teresa Hinds, and Melisa McBeth; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Charles and Jerry are also survived by two sisters, Viola Blanchard and Florence Alford, both of Niles and many nieces and nephews.
