Area wrestlers get off to good start at state finals

AUBURN HILLS — The opening day of the MHSAA Individual State Wrestling Championships at the Palace of Auburn Hills was a good one for area competitors.
Niles had five wrestlers win opening round matches in Division 2, while Brandywine, Cassopolis, Dowagiac and Edwardsburg each had one wrestler advance to the championship quarterfinals this morning.
