CRAWFORDSVILLE, Indiana — Trine was defeated by No. 3 Wabash, 41-13 in a dual match Thursday at Wabash College.

Jeffrey Helm (Westfield, Indiana) highlighted the Thunder victories with a pin in the 141-lb match. The freshman held a 7-5 lead before taking over to earn the fall at the 6:04 mark. Prior to the pin, Helm had scored points via a takedown, an escape and two reversals. The victory was his 12th of the season.

Brandon Preston (Logansport, Indiana) earned a commanding 13-4 win by major decision at 133-lbs. Preston scored five takedowns, several of which came along the edge of the mat. The senior improved his mark to 17-6 on the season.

Mack Green (Buchanan) earned his 31st victory of the season. The No. 2 ranked heavyweight in the nation scored a 6-0 victory by decision. The senior’s performance included points from a reversal and takedown.

Trine fell to 2-11 on the season in dual matches. Wabash is now 12-2 on the year.

The Thunder return to action Saturday when they compete in the Mid-States Invitational at Olivet College. Matches begin at 8:30 a.m.
