After 56 years in the accounting business, Certified Public Accountant Dale Bussler has decided to retire.
Bussler, who has been offering tax and accounting services in Niles for 25 years, said it is time.
“Fifty-six years is a long time, but it has been rewarding,” said the 80-year-old Niles man. “I will certainly miss the clients and the people the most.”
Bussler has merged his tax/accounting firm at 301 N. Third St. with Korhorn Financial Group — a financial planning company headquartered in Granger, Indiana.
Bussler said he is confident KFG will offer the same level of service his clients have come to expect.
“It’s been a relief because I know I am leaving my clients in good hands,” he said. “That was important to me because they’ve been so loyal to me.”
KFG has seven locations, including four in Indiana and three in Michigan. It employs 40 people, including four Certified Public Accountants.
KFG owner Kevin Korhorn said in addition to offering the same tax and accounting services that Bussler had been offering, KFG will also offer new services, like financial planning, wealth management and insurance needs.
“We’ve found that taking a holistic approach to someone’s financial life is the most beneficial way to serve a client,” Korhorn said.
KFG will operate in Niles at the location of Bussler’s former business.
Bussler said he plans to enjoy his retirement by relaxing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
