The City of Niles will debut its Chapin Mansion Light Show at 7 p.m. on Nov. 22.
The public is invited to attend the opening program on the front lawn of the Chapin Mansion at 508 E. Main St.
Niles Mayor Michael McCauslin will give a brief welcome and then “flip the switch” to start the Chapin Mansion Light Show.
The exterior of the Chapin Mansion, along with the grounds surrounding the mansion, will be decorated with energy efficient LED lights that will flash and move to holiday music. Additionally, a three-story tree of lights will decorate the front yard of the mansion, and a lighted arch at the northwest corner of the yard will welcome visitors to the site.
The light show will be divided into four parts, each lasting 15 minutes. The first part will start at the top of the hour and include the animated lights set to music. The second part will focus on the Christmas lights inside the Chapin Mansion. The third part, starting at the bottom of the hour, will include the animated lights set to a different holiday music program. The fourth part will again be focused on the interior lighting of the mansion.
Ken Kuespert, owner of TPC Technologies, designed the light show and accompanying music. The City of Niles Utilities Department’s Electric Division purchased the lighting and decorations as part of its replacement program to update all City Christmas decorations and lights to new LED energy saving programmable circuitry. Utility personnel installed the lights under the direction of Mr. Kuespert.
City of Niles officials said they hopes that the people of Niles and the surrounding area will enjoy the Chapin Mansion Light Show and view it throughout the holiday season.
