Cassopolis scored early and often as it played its way into the MHSAA playoffs Friday night.

The Rangers (6-3) scored 28 first quarter points and rolled to a 42-6 victory over visiting Centreville on Senior Night.

Noah Woods got Cass off and running as he scored on runs of 18 and 40 yards. The second touchdown cam after the Rangers had recovered a fumble on the Bulldogs’ first offensive possession.

Isaiah Crider scored the first of his three touchdowns in the opening quarter (30 yards) and Nick Murphy connected with Tymari Brown on a 13-yard touchdown pass to complete the first quarter scoring.

The Rangers started mixing in back-ups with starts in the second quarter, but that did not keep Crider from scoring on an 11-yard run to make it 35-0 at halftime.

The second half started with a running clock, but when Centreville quarterback Jake Milliman got loose for a 54-yard touchdown, the regular clock went back into effect.

It did not take Cassopolis long to get the running clock going again as Crider scored the Rangers’ final touchdown of the night, this one from 64 yards.

Cassopolis finished with 374 yards in total offense, including 318 yards on the ground.

Crider finished with 137 yards on nine carries and Wood added 101 on six totes.

Murphy was 2-of-3 for 56 yards.

The Bulldogs had 257 yards in total offense with 187 coming through the air.

The Rangers forced five turnovers in the contest — three fumbles and two interceptions.
