Brandywine’s Harrell fourth at BCS championships

CENTREVILLE — The Bridgman boys and Mendon girls captured the first BCS Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships Tuesday.
The Bees edged Mendon 51-56 for the boy’s title. Buchanan finished sixth and Brandywine eighth.
Bridgman’s Brian Njuguna was the overall winner with a time of 17:05.
Brandywine’s James Harrell finished fourth with a time of 18:06.
The Hornets edged Bridgman for the girl’s title, 60-63. Buchanan finished seventh, Cassopolis eighth and Brandywine 10th.
Mendon’s Mary Leighton was the individual champion with a time of 21:39.
Cassopolis’ Amy Adams finished 15th overall with a time of 23:45.
