The Buchanan volleyball team has a very potent offense.
It was on display Wednesday in a BCS Athletic Conference match against Brandywine.
Franki Strefling had 10 kills, Alex Tobler added nine and Chelsey Bennett added five to lead the Bucks past the Bobcats, 25-7, 25-18, 25-8.
“They’re a very good team,” said Brandywine junior outside hitter Sydney Carlson about Buchanan.
Four kills by Strefling helped the Bucks jump out to a 9-2 lead in game one.
Game two was much more competitve as the Bobcats led 16-12 and were in position to get back into the match.
The Bucks refused to let their rival gain any more momentum as the visitors went on a 13-2 run to win game two. Strefling had two service aces and Tobler totaled two service aces during that rally.
“Consistency has been our issue,” said Brandywine first-year volleyball coach Carrie Bidwell. “We definitely had some great moments (against Buchanan). We’re just not finishing.”
Four service aces from Taylor Strauss helped the Bucks score the first nine points in game three. The game and match was won by Buchanan after getting a kill from Tobler.
Carlson had five kills and seven digs for the Bobcats.
