Cassopolis may have won the battle, but Brandywine and Bridgman won the war.
The Rangers edged Bridgman by a stroke to win the Lakeland Conference Golf Tournament at Orchard Hills Country Club Monday.
Cassopolis shot 411, while the Bees finished at 412. Brandywine shot 419 and Buchanan shot 449.
Because Bridgman finished ahead of the Bobcats in the tournament, they forced first place tie for the league championship.
Alec DeJonge of Brandywine and Nick Knowlton of Bridgman tied for medalist honors by shooting 89.
DeJonge and Knowlton also led the first team. They were joined on the squad by Brandywine’s Chance Smith, Bridgman’s Cooper Mojsiejenko and Cassopolis’ Collin Carlisle, Colin Kelly and Ryan Williams.
