Melodie Jo Lanier, 53, of Niles, Mich. died on Tuesday, April 14, 2014, at Kindred Hospital of Northern Indiana in South Bend. She was born April 23, 1960 in Buchanan to Leon & Vada (Flynn) Wadsworth. She was married to George Wirick and later married Clay Lanier.

Surviving family includes brothers, Leon Richard (Amy) Wadsworth of Niles, Trent Wadsworth of Niles and Greg (Tam) Wadsworth of South Bend; nieces Mariha (Scott), Vada, Anna, and Lisa; nephews Lee, and Joshua; great-niece Samantha, and great-nephews Amari, and Aiden.

Funeral services for Melodie Jo Lanier will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday April 19, 2014, at the Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles with visitation one hour prior.
