ST. JOSEPH — Visiting Niles rallied from a 49-43 halftime deficit to edge St. Joseph 61-58 in Big 16 West Division boys basketball action Tuesday night.

The Vikings (7-11, 4-10 West) and Bears (12-7, 9-5 West) were deadlocked at 13-13 after one quarter of play.

St. Joseph outscored Niles 16-12 in the second quarter to open up a 29-25 halftime advantage. The Bears took a 49-43 lead into the final eight minutes of action.

The Vikings outscored the Bears 18-9 in the fourth quarter to pick up the victory.

A 27-11 run by Niles over the game’s final 10 minutes was the difference.

Jeremy Wortham gave the Vikings’ its first lead since the second quarter when he scored with 3:50 remaining. Donte Murphy’s basket a minute later gave Niles the lead for good.

Tate Brawley led a balanced Niles attack with 14 points. Murphy and Connor Glick both finished with 11 points, while Ra’Quon Glenn finished with 10.

Marty Siemans and A.J. Gibson both had 15 points for the Bears.
