A quick start helped host Buchanan defeat LaVille (Ind.) 69-54 in boys basketball Tuesday night.

The Bucks (5-1) grabbed a 26-8 first quarter lead and never looked back. Buchanan led 45-25 at halftime.

Doug Freeman had 24 points for the Bucks, who also got 18 points from Kevin Dey. Tyler Flynn added 10 points.

Blake Berger led LaVille with a game-high 30 points.
