Erwin sets school record in Brandywine victory

BANGOR — Sophomore Emily Erwin poured in a game-high 24 points, which included a school record eight 3-pointers as Brandywine advanced to the finals of the Bangor Holiday Tournament with a 72-29 win over Comstock Friday night.
Erwin was 8-of-15 from 3-point range to help the Bobcats (5-0) set a school record with 15 made triples.
Brandywine was 15-of-38 (39 percent) from beyond the 3-point line.
Veteran coach Josh Hood picked up his 100th career victory with the Bobcats.
The Bobcats led 20-8 after one quarter and never looked back.
Comstock (1-5) trailed 41-18 by halftime and 64-22 heading into the final quarter.
Makenna Bowmen chipped in with 11 points and Tammy Lee 10, eight assists and six steals. Makenna Hartline had seven points and 12 rebounds, while Michaela Hartline had seven points, 10 rebounds and eight steals.
Morgan Baker led Comstock with 14 points.
Brandywine will face the winner of Bangor-Cassopolis game at 5:30 p.m. in the championship game Saturday.
