Dowagiac graduate John H. Riggs III, DC, FACO (Fellow, Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists, of Midland, has been appointed by Texas Gov. Rick Perry to the Board of Chiropractor Examiners.

 

Dr. Riggs owns and is clinical director of Alternative Chiropractic Solutions.

 

The 1967 DUHS graduate is a member of the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) and ACA Council Chiropractic Orthopedics, Texas Chiropractic Association and Texas Council of Chiropractic Orthopedists and a member and board-certified chiropractic orthopedist through the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists.

 

Riggs served in the U.S. Air Force and received a bachelor’s degree from California State College, a master’s degree in business administration from San Diego State University and his doctor of chiropractic from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic.

 

He spent 25 years in California, and also lived in Tennessee, before settling in Texas.

 

Riggs, 64, said Tuesday he maintains a license in Michigan because his mother, Lila Hawn, and sister, Cheryl Buege, still live in Dowagiac and he plans to eventually move back north.
