AUBURN HILLS — Niles’ Fritzel Findeisen and Ryan Casey joined Casey Burandt as first round winners at the MHSAA Division 2 Individual Finals Friday.

Findeisen defeated Middleville-Thornapple Kellogg’s Nick Glowe 13-7, while Casey defeated Sparta’s Ken Hanson 4-2.

In Division 3, defending state champion Gage Hutchison of Buchanan opened up his title defense with a 39 second pin of Richmond’s Adam Boyd.

The Bucks’ Jermaine Cox was pinned by Dundee’s Todd Olson in the opening round.

Brandywine’s Joe Monica lost his first match in Division 4 to Eldon Graham of Hesperia, 4-0.

Cassopolis’ Zack Newton was pinned by New Lothrop’s Taylor Krupp in his first round match.

Wrestling at The Palace of Auburn Hills will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the first round of consolation matches. The championship quarterfinals is scheduled for 11 a.m. and the second round of consolation matches at 2 p.m.

Friday will wrap up with the semifinals at 7 p.m.
