Friday, Dec 14
Ugly Christmas Sweater Party & Contest
7 p.m.
Riviera Theater
50 N. Main St., Three Rivers
(269) 278-8068
YESSSSSS!!! This is a good first date activity where you can see if they can have fun amidst the absurd. There’s a bar and someone named DJ Bobbo. Amazing? Disaster? Those are the dice I like to roll. Life is what you make of it, Baby — start here.

Saturday, Dec. 15
Lee Greenwood Tennessee Christmas
8 p.m.
Lake Michigan College Mendel Center
2755 E. Napier Ave., Benton Harbor
(269) 927-1221
Checking out Lee Greenwood’s demo for the show, I was introduced to a much more musically rich sound than the “Tennessee” title led me to believe and wasn’t surprised to learn he’s a Californian transplanted in Nashville. Greenwood’s strong tenor voice insures a great evening of music.

Sunday, Dec. 16
Home For The Holidays, featuring Susan Nelson, soprano
3 p.m
South Bend Symphony Orchestra
Morris Performing Arts Center
211N. Michigan St., South Bend
(574) 235-9190
A big symphony in a 2,500 seat-Vaudeville theater built in 1921 sounds interesting to me. Add in the Goshen HS Choir and it should be a memorable Christmas music spectacle. Sit in one of the three balconies to hear the strings better, close to a wall for more weight in the basses.
