OTSEGO — The Dowagiac girls cross country team finished eighth at the Bulldog Invitational hosted by Otsego Saturday.

The Chieftains were in the Gold Division, which was won by Marshall with 47 points. Dowagiac finished with 166 points.

Holly Luth led the Chieftains with a 12th place finish and a time of 22:11. Christina Preston also cracked the top 15 with a time of 22:12, which was good for 14th spot.

The Dowagiac boys team was 12th in the Gold Division, which was won by Bangor with 89 points.

The Chieftains finished with 316 points.

Ben Thompson was 34th to lead Dowagiac with a time of 18:46.

In the JV Gold Division race, Kendra Wilson was seventh with a time of 26:37, Rebecca Luth 12th with a time of 28:20, Corinne Kasper 17th with a time of 29:05 and Morgan Bonomo 19th with a time of 29:51.

Brittany Smith was 22nd (30:59), Madeline White 25th (34:05), Nijah Russell 26th (34:21) and Amy Schaus 27th (37:13).
